UPDATE: Cameron has graduated from Middle College (Exton, PA) where he continued his high School education after the incident last fall. We thank all supporters who helped bring Cameron home and get him back to school and life. Cameron has shown us that he was worthy of our efforts and is a great young man. To help prevent Radnor School District from making this mistake again, please send your comments to the current school board members concerning a proper threat assessment protocols that differentiate between a student who makes a verbal or written threat and one that actually poses a threat - there is a huge difference!
Email School Board Members NOW to voice your opinion.

Background Information:

Please help us show support for families of Radnor High School and our community by pledging your support for Cameron Plaice. Cameron is a senior at Radnor High School who was arrested Friday, October 6th, after voluntarily confessing to writing the message “It’s people like you that make people like me bring guns to school to hug people like you,” on a bathroom wall. This message was initially construed by authorities as "potentially threatening," and prompted officials to cancel classes the next day and operate in a lock down mode.

After Cameron's admission to the assistant principal for writing this message, Cameron immediately showed sorrow for doing something inappropriate. Cameron maintained that he wrote his message in jest to respond to the ethnic slurs and racial threats found on the bathrooms walls. He said meant no harm by the message he wrote and never expected it to be taken seriously or as a threat – especially the way it was by the school administration. Since this incident last fall, our school district has enacted a diversity program to deal with the racism, has shown some better judgment in handling similar situations but has not adopted a multi-disciplinary threat assessment team approach or enacted a confidant program to help kids who are at risk seek help.

Please contact the Delaware County District Attorney’s office and the probation office to voice your respectful support for a county wide school threat assessment policy at the following number 610-891-4161 or write the office:

This website has been created to help raise awareness in support for Cameron's incident and how Radnor Township School District had over reacted to a threat situation because they did not employ a multi-disciplinary threat assessment team approach to ascertain whether the message came from a person posed a real threat to anyone or just a case of inappropriate language. Please take a moment and sign the guestbook on this webpage.
